GiGi’s Achievers is Back for 2024!

Our GiGi’s Achievers group had an eventful week, having fun painting pottery last Wednesday at Arts and Crafts Studio by Mucci World in Tinley Park, then honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The GiGi’s Achievers program meets weekly and empowers adults with Down syndrome with purposeful activities to ensure continued learning. This program teaches and promotes communication, self-awareness, independence, health and wellness through community engagement. Here at GiGi’s Playhouse Tinley Park, we are grateful to have such a wonderful and supportive community for our participants to explore. We are also so grateful for our volunteers, and Achievers leader Tracey Ardizzone-Droesch, for their dedication to creating memorable and educational programming for our participants!

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day this week, our Achievers group listened to his “I Have a Dream” speech, and did some activities centered on acceptance. It’s important to recognize the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and his teachings of equality and inclusion. Especially as GiGi’s Playhouse continues the mission to change the way the world views Down syndrome and send a global message of acceptance for all!
