GiGi-Fit

GiGi-Fit is a progressive fitness program for individuals with developmental disabilities, comprised of a six week program designed to safely and effectively teach individuals exercises and movements that will improve their overall health and wellness. In addition it will give participants the ability to perform every day functional tasks independently and without injury. GiGi’s Playhouse Crossfit will assist individuals in making fitness goals and becoming more physically fit through group training instruction with the use of step boxes, barbells, jump ropes, medicine balls, rowing machines and body weight movements. Each class will focus on developing skills in functional movements including, but not limited to, the squat, deadlift, and overhead press as well as yoga poses and agility drills. Classes will end with a high intensity workout, focusing on movements athletes have previously demonstrated competency in. The ideal candidate will be highly goal-oriented and motivated to change their exercise and lifestyle habits. Prior experience in some type of physical fitness routine is encouraged but not necessary.
