‘Lunch Bunch’ Highlight & Volunteer Spotlight!

Easily one of the favorite programs that is hosted at the Southern Tier Playhouse is our ‘Lunch Bunch & Game Time’ Friday program! The program is just as it sounds- our participants bring their lunch, eat together, and play games! This simple program is the highlight of many of our participants weeks. This program allows for friendship to grow in a natural social setting, along with an opportunity for our participants to work on their table skills while they enjoy their lunches. By the end of the week, our participants enjoy having a relaxing program that gives them freedom to do what they would like; puzzles, board games, card games, coloring, karaoke, and more! Lunch Bunch & Game Time is a great ‘first program’ for any of our new participants or volunteers visiting the Playhouse for the first time.

Volunteer Highlight: Jenna!

Jenna has been volunteering with our playhouse since the winter of 2023 in multiple programs. She assisted with the ’Signing with the Stars’ program on Tuesday evenings in the winter, and quickly became close with many of our young adult participants and picked up on the sign language in the drop of a hat! This fall Jenna has been volunteering for the Lunch Bunch and Game Time program on Friday afternoons. Jenna is electric with our participants and from the start has loved being a part of the Playhouse. Jenna says ”I truly love volunteering at GiGi’s Playhouse and it has been one of the most important parts of my college experience”!
