April Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Franklin!

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Month!

Here at the Playhouse, we are always blown away by the amazing volunteers who walk through our doors. This month we wanted to highlight a volunteer who has faithfully joined us every Saturday to assist with our children’s programs. Meet Franklin! Franklin began volunteering with us back in November of last year and has carved out the time to spend his Saturday mornings with us and our tiny human friends! Franklin first heard about GiGi’s Playhouse from a family member, and immediately wanted to get involved. Franklin had wanted to start getting involved in volunteering in the community, and he knew GiGi’s would be a good fit.

The very first week Franklin came out to volunteer, he was re-connected with Reva Reid, who leads our  Music in Motion program and is a local Occupational Therapist, who he knew from when he was growing up- what a small world! He knew that he was welcome at the Playhouse from the first moments he joined us at the Playhouse. Franklin has a background in music therapy, which comes in handy for many of our children’s programs. He has enjoyed getting to know our families and participants when they come in for LMNOP, Music in Motion, Destination Discovery, and open play! A big thank you to Franklin for pouring out time and energy to make our Playhouse a warm environment for our participants!
