Royal High School Students Lead with Heart Through “Royal Cares” Fundraiser

There are moments that remind us just how powerful community can be—and this is one of them.
Recently, four incredible Royal High School Boys Volleyball student-athletes—Micah Park, Matthew Deng, Ranbir Jain, and Rishik Tanwani—turned an idea into impact through their “Royal Cares” fundraiser in support of GiGi’s Playhouse Simi Valley.
With the support of Rancho Simi Insurance, the group designed and sold custom “Royal Cares” t-shirts featuring the GiGi’s Playhouse logo. What started as a student-led initiative quickly grew into something much bigger, with teammates, classmates, siblings, and families all coming together to support the cause.
Because of their leadership and heart, they raised over $1,700 to help keep GiGi’s Playhouse programs free for individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
We had the honor of joining them at Royal High School between the JV and Varsity volleyball matches for a special presentation and celebration. Standing on the court together, surrounded by a community that showed up with so much energy and support, was incredibly meaningful. It also gave us the opportunity to share more about GiGi’s Playhouse—our mission, our programs, and the families we serve every single day.
What makes this story so special isn’t just the funds raised—it’s the intention behind it.
These student-athletes chose to use their platform to create awareness, build connection, and give back. They showed what leadership truly looks like: stepping up, bringing others with you, and making a difference in a way that lasts far beyond a single event.
To Micah, Matthew, Ranbir, Rishik, Rancho Simi Insurance, and the entire Royal High School community—thank you. Your support helps us continue to grow, reach more families, and keep our programs free and accessible to all.
Together, we are building a more inclusive and accepting world—one act of kindness at a time.
