About GiGi’s Playhouse Salt Lake City

In February of 2015, GiGi’s Playhouse Layton opened its doors, becoming our 20th Playhouse, as well as the first location in Utah. For nearly ten years, GiGi’s Playhouse Layton changed countless lives by providing FREE educational and therapeutic programs to individuals with Down syndrome and their families. 

Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Layton Playhouse had to close its doors in August of 2024, but there was still reason for optimism: the National Office immediately began gauging the interest in opening a Playhouse in nearby Salt Lake City. 

In response, a dedicated group of local parents—four moms of children with Down syndrome—turned this optimism into action. They came together, stepped up, and formed the GiGi’s Playhouse Salt Lake City startup team. With the support of many others, the Salt Lake City startup team is working to bring GiGi’s Playhouse back to Utah and continue changing lives!
