What is World Down Syndrome Day?
World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day celebrated every year on March 21st. The date—3/21—symbolizes the triplication of the 21st chromosome, which causes Down syndrome. First officially observed in 2006, WDSD is recognized by the United Nations as a day to promote inclusion, advocate for the rights of individuals with Down syndrome, and celebrate their achievements and contributions to our communities.
Join us as we honor this special day with music, movement, and celebration!
👉 RSVP via our calendar or by emailing portland@gigisplayhouse.org today—we can’t wait to see you there! 🎶✨
