The Story Thus Far – Teen Tastic

Teen Tastic was the very first program to be held at GiGi’s Playhouse Portland on October 1st, 2024, and continues to be a fun and action-packed time for teens of any ability!

The Olympics came to GiGi’s thanks to Teen Tastic, and our participants athletes proved their winning spirits with the support of our volunteers. Rain, a licensed speech language pathologist and great volunteer, was both cheerleader and referee for the night, and was a huge part of bringing the games to life.

With monstrous mini pumpkins and awesome costumes, the Halloween party hosted by Teen Tastic’s Radha was a great way to end GiGi’s Playhouse Portland’s first month of operation. The volunteers facilitated games that practiced gross motor skills, keeping with the therapeutic nature of GiGi’s programs.

New Year’s Eve happened to be on a Teen Tastic night, so of course Radha – also a licensed SLP — hosted a party! In their fancy hats and dancing shoes, the party was a hit with all ages. There was even a Bollywood-style dance number to “Tauba Tauba!”

Superhero night allowed the teens to imagine themselves with powers beyond reality. Could you imagine having two super-speed heroes at Teen Tastic? Zach could!

Participants explored their dreams for the future in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The spirit of acceptance and inclusion rings true in all of GiGi’s programs, and Teen Tastic is no exception. Every participant’s voice was represented.

Bowling with Teen Tastic was an exercise in fun and gross motor skills. Shout-out to SuperPlay for helping make this night out possible for our teens!

Thank you to Radha, Rain, Chase, Melissa, Laura, Molly, and Harrison for making all these great times happen.
