Explore Educational Excellence at the Virtual GiGi’s Educator Symposium

As our world inches closer to acceptance for all abilities, GiGi’s Playhouse continues to pave the way for progress. On March 8th, 2025, the annual GiGi’s Educator Symposium for both educators and families is coming to your screen. This free, virtual event is designed to equip participants with teaching strategies tailored to the unique learning styles of individuals with Down syndrome.

Benefits for Educators:
- Expert-Led Sessions: The symposium features presentations by educators and therapists with extensive experience serving people with Down syndrome.
- Practical Strategies: Educators are provided with actionable techniques that can be used right away in the classroom. Topics include promoting positive behavior, supporting speech and motor skills, and teaching literacy and math – many of which are used at GiGi’s signature programs!
- Professional Development: Participants have the opportunity to earn Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credits or a Certificate of Attendance.
Benefits for Families:
- Empowering Caregivers: Families gain a deeper understanding of how their loved ones learn best, and can advocate for promising techniques in their family member’s education.
- Community Building: The symposium encourages families to invite their own children’s teachers, therapists, and paraprofessionals. A collaborative approach to a person with Down syndrome’s education is powerful!
Past attendees have praised the symposium for its practical application and positive impact. One educator from Quad Cities, IL noted, “This was one of the best workshops I have attended. The information applies directly to my classroom, and I was able to implement tools immediately on Monday.”
The upcoming GiGi’s Educator Symposium is scheduled for Saturday, March 8, 2025. Given its virtual format, participants from various locations can easily join! For more information and to register, click here.
