Shining Bright: February Spotlights

Join us in celebrating and learning more about the incredible people and programs that make GiGi’s Nashville such a special place!

Blair is a bright and joyful member of our GiGi’s Playhouse community who has participated in many of our programs, including one-on-one tutoring and our adult education offerings. She is currently part of our GiGi Prep program, where her kindness, spunky personality, and love of learning shine through in everything she does. Blair brings positivity and fun to every session and is always eager to grow and try new things. Outside of the Playhouse, she loves coloring and drawing and enjoys spending quality time with her family. We’re so proud of Blair and love being part of her continued journey!

Ashlyn has been an incredible addition to the GiGi’s Playhouse volunteer family! Since joining us this past summer, she has quickly made Kitchen Teen a place full of laughter, connection, and confidence. Ashlyn brings energy and creativity to every session, making cooking fun and engaging. She has a natural way of connecting with our teens, encouraging teamwork, independence, and joy in the kitchen. We are so grateful for Ashlyn’s heart, enthusiasm, and the positive community she helps create each week!

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Joe, one of our newest tutors at GiGi’s Playhouse! Joe is already making a wonderful impact in Math tutoring by bringing energy, creativity, and genuine connection to each session. He takes the time to learn what motivates his participant, thoughtfully weaving their interests into lessons to make learning meaningful and fun. Joe’s willingness to learn, grow, and truly meet his student where they are speaks volumes about the kind of tutor he is. We’re so grateful to have him as part of the GiGi’s family and can’t wait to see all the great things ahead!

GiGi Prep is an adult-focused program designed to support individuals with Down syndrome as they build essential skills for greater independence and workplace readiness. Participants engage in hands-on activities that strengthen communication, problem-solving, time management, self-advocacy, and professional behavior—all in a supportive, encouraging environment. GiGi Prep empowers adults to grow their confidence, develop practical life skills, and take meaningful steps toward employment, independence, and active community involvement.
