GiGi’s Playhouse Celebrates Wold Down Syndrome Day!

World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD) is a global awareness day which has been officially observed by the United Nations since 2012.  Each year the voice of people with Down syndrome grows louder.  Organizations all over the world are participating in activities and events to help raise awareness of what Down syndrome is, what it means to have Down syndrome, and how people with Down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities.

GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville will be be participating in this global event by hosting our 1st Annual 3-21 Fun Run. People with Down syndrome work so hard every day to achieve what we may think are the smallest tasks.  If all of us put forth as much effort, the world would be a wonderful place.  That’s why they are our superheroes every day!  Let’s celebrate with the superheroes around us and show the world that the sky is the limit!  This year’s event will have something for everyone: you can run, walk, play, and party in honor of all the families we serve and support!  We will have something for the whole family, including food trucks, Zumba, games, a DJ, balloons, and more.  We would also like to thank all of the organizations that will be joining us at Lipscomb University Track to help us celebrate World Down Syndrome Day: Capital Financial Group, Pediatric Associates of Franklin, DSAMT, IDEAL, Kid Talk, Buddy Up Tennis, and Matilda Jane.  You won’t want to miss this!
