Volunteer Spotlight: Brett Martin

Brett is a remarkable volunteer at GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville, where he dedicates his time and energy to supporting the adult participants of the Fantastic Friends program. His kindness is evident in every interaction, always ensuring that everyone feels included and valued. Brett’s warm and friendly demeanor makes him a favorite among the participants, who look forward to his presence and the positive energy he brings to the group.

In addition to his kindness, Brett’s charisma shines through in his volunteer work. He has a unique ability to engage with each participant, creating an atmosphere of joy and enthusiasm. Whether leading an activity or simply having a conversation, Brett’s natural charisma helps to build strong connections and foster a sense of community within the group. His ability to make others feel comfortable and appreciated is a testament to his genuine care for the well-being of those he helps.

Brett’s dedication to helping others goes beyond his regular volunteer hours. He consistently goes above and beyond to ensure the success of the Fantastic Friends program. Participant Spotlight: Amaya Parker

Amaya, a vibrant 12-year-old participant at GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville, brings joy and enthusiasm to every session she attends. Her favorite activities include the Destination Discovery workshops, where she eagerly engages with the Occupational Therapy Doctoral students. These workshops offer her a chance to explore new skills and interests, and allowing her natural curiosity and eagerness to learn to shine.

One of the highlights of Amaya’s week is the Dance: SHiNE class on Mondays. She loves dancing and expresses herself freely through movement. Her love for music is evident as she dances, bringing a special vibrancy to the room. Dance: SHiNE is also great physical fitness, showing another way Amaya works every day to be her #BestofAll!

Outside of her structured activities, Amaya has a deep love for Disney and enjoys playing card games, which she finds both fun and challenging. Her playful spirit and infectious enthusiasm make her a beloved member of the GiGi’s Playhouse community, where she continues to inspire others with her zest for life and boundless energy.

Tutor Spotlight: Reagan Stern

Reagan, a dedicated and passionate tutor at GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville, returned home for the summer from Florida State University with a strong desire to give back to her community. Her commitment to helping others led her to sign up as a tutor, where she quickly became known for her exceptional teaching skills and ability to connect with participants. Reagan’s enthusiasm for making a difference is evident in every tutoring session, where she fosters a supportive and engaging learning environment.

In addition to her tutoring duties, Reagan volunteers at five different programs within GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville. Her diverse involvement allows her to touch many lives and contribute to various aspects of the organization. Whether it’s assisting with educational programs or supporting fitness activities, Reagan’s versatility and dedication shine through in every role she takes on. Her willingness to go above and beyond exemplifies her commitment to the mission of GiGi’s Playhouse.

Reagan’s summer at GiGi’s Playhouse Nashville is a testament to her selflessness and community spirit. Balancing her responsibilities as a tutor with her volunteer work across multiple programs, she has become an integral part of the GiGi’s Playhouse family.
