Welcome Home!

Taking a break from playing, volunteer & participant enjoy some down time together.

Did you know that every GiGi’s Playhouse has a couch? Let me tell you why…

The couch is a place of comfort, a place to sit down and “take a load off.” It’s a place for you to feel embraced and know that we have your back. It’s a place for parents to relax while their children play, and for new friends to be made.

GiGi’s Playhouse Hillsborough is a place for the entire family to enjoy, not just for the individual with Down syndrome. Every visit here does not have to be for a program, it can simply be to visit with Liz (she’s always ready to chat) or to give the kids someplace else to play for a while. It can even be a quiet place for mom or dad to hide for a while and enjoy a good book.

Whatever the reason for the visit, remember that the Playhouse is open Wednesday and Thursday, 10am- 7pm, Friday 10am- 6pm, Saturday 9am- 2pm, and Sunday 11am- 4pm, regardless of program schedule. Feel free to stop by, relax on the couch and feel like you’re at home.

Together we can educate, inspire and believe.

Lives are hectic, especially when dealing with the unpredictable aspects of living with disability. I applaud the casual tone of invitation in this Hillsborough blog. Yes, the Playhouses have schedules and programs, and protocol…and for good reason. Sometimes though, when you visit a best friend, you don’t call ahead. You know the door is open and that you’re welcome. When Nancy and Paul Gianni sat on that “first”couch they wondered who would come to visit. They created a comfort zone, we responded. Hillsborough community, keep up the Great Work! Big Love! Richard Reilly-The Grandparent Connection.
