What A Week!

Wow, our first week has come & gone! We cannot thank everyone enough for their support, encouragement and interest in GiGi’s Playhouse. Without all of you, we wouldn’t be here.

Our grand opening was an overwhelming success, the turnout was fantastic! And we were so happy to see how many families were excited for us to be here, and how at home so many of you felt. We want this to be your second home, your go to place at all times, not just when a program is scheduled.

Speaking of programs… This past week we hosted our first two programs, Open Play and the 2 & Under Playgroup. It was great seeing so many familiar faces return to the playhouse for a program. The most heartwarming was seeing the enjoyment of the families and how comfortable here everyone has already become.

This first operational week also hosted another volunteer orientation. We welcome everyone who can donate any amount of time to the Playhouse, be it an hour a day or an hour every other month, know you time is valued and appreciated. Our next orientation will be Tuesday, February 10, at 7:00 pm, please stop by to check out all the different opportunities.

Thank you again for all of your support, together we can educate, inspire and believe.

Erin, thank you for sharing. Marilee and I, like many, anticipated coming to the Grand Opening and meeting the faces behind the effort. Standing room only and the diverse make up of attendance was a testament especially to your ability to get the word out. Programs will expand, lives will grow. Continue to encourage families to share their story. Writers within your group, bilingual, work with others to maintain an active blog. With the push on a keyboard your experiences travel around the world. We are each unique. I Have A Voice is not a concept, it’s a reality. The Hillsborough Playhouse is now a resource. Many touched by disability in this world do not have a voice and in some societies nor do their family. Your words, your story will make a difference in someone else’s story. Prayers and Love for the continuing journey. So proud of you! Richard Reilly The Grandparent Connection
