CEO Day

Today was the second time that GiGi’s Playhouse Fort Wayne was asked to be a presenter at Leo Junior High School’s CEO (Career Exploration Opportunity) Day! We were honored to be asked to speak to over 100 students about GiGi’s Playhouse and educating our new friends about Down syndrome and #generationG. Best of all, this was Bethany’s first time doing community outreach and she nailed it!

Bethany is a GiGi U graduate and her confidence has exploded this past year! A year ago, Bethany had to be consistently prompted to introduce herself with a handshake. After a year of working in GiGi’s Studio Boutique and the soon to open, GiGi’s Genesis Health Bar, she independently and confidently greets everyone who comes to GiGi’s. Today, when speaking in front of four groups of 25+ students at a time, she became a brightly shining star.

Bethany proudly spoke about being an entrepreneur with her dog treat and accessory business, she went on to speak about the programs she participates in at GiGi’s Playhouse and so much more. At the end of each 25-minute session, the students were able to ask questions. After noticing only questions were being asked of the Executive Director, Bethany spoke up and reminded everyone that she was available for questions as well. The students began to ask Bethany amazing questions and Bethany fielded them like a pro! Bethany, we could not be more proud of how you have grown into a confident public speaker.
