Celebrating Maya’s Best of All!

Our August Participant of the Month is Maya! Maya is 5 years old and first joined GiGi’s in late 2024 after moving here from Texas. Since then, she has jumped right into the Playhouse family, participating in GiGiFIT Preschool, Leaps and Bounds, Backpack Buddies, and our many special events. Over the last year and a half, we’ve had the joy of watching Maya grow in confidence, skills, and connection.

When Maya first came to GiGi’s, she was working hard on listening and communication, often expressing herself through her actions. Since then, we’ve seen tremendous growth. Today, Maya listens so well, shows incredible strength in GiGiFIT, and beams as she sings along to songs. She’s also made amazing progress in her communication, repeating words and signs with enthusiasm.

One of Maya’s favorite things at the Playhouse is the disco ball—her smile lights up the room as she stretches and reaches for it. She also loves greeting staff and volunteers with the biggest hugs, brightening everyone’s day the moment she walks in.

Maya is a sweet, kind, and happy girl whose hard work and joyful spirit inspire us all. We are so proud of her and thrilled to celebrate her as our August Participant of the Month. Keep shining, Maya—you’re amazing!

Why We Celebrate “Best of All” at the Playhouse

At GiGi’s Playhouse, we believe in celebrating progress—not perfection. That’s why we highlight Best of All moments every month.

“Best of All” is about recognizing the hard work, perseverance, and achievements of our participants, volunteers, and families. It doesn’t matter how big or small the milestone is—what matters is that each person is working toward being their personal best.

For some, a Best of All moment might be saying a new word, completing a fitness challenge, or making a new friend. For others, it might be stepping up to lead a program, volunteering time and energy, or creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors.

By sharing these stories, we shine a light on the everyday victories that make GiGi’s so special. These moments inspire us, encourage our community, and remind us that growth looks different for everyone—but it always deserves to be celebrated.

Because at GiGi’s, every step forward is a victory worth cheering for.
