GiGi's Playhouse Everett

Our group came together as seven parents of children with Down syndrome who live in the Everett and greater Snohomish County area. While there’s a passionate local Down syndrome community that offers fun social opportunities, consistent and centralized resources are limited. The closest Down syndrome center is in Seattle — a difficult trip for many families due to both traffic and distance. Meanwhile, our region continues to grow, with more families moving in for jobs and housing, but the societal supports haven’t kept pace. At the same time, many families are increasingly concerned about the future of government-provided services, as public budgets face potential cuts. We see a clear need for a reliable, local space where individuals with Down syndrome of all ages — and their families — can connect, grow, and thrive. That’s what inspired us to bring GiGi’s Playhouse to Everett.
