2025 Impact Recap: A Year of Growth, Community, and Belief in Ability

As we reflect on 2025, one thing is clear: this year was powered by community and by the belief that individuals with Down syndrome can achieve extraordinary things when given opportunity and support.

Because of donors’ generosity, volunteers’ dedication, and families’ trust, GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit continued to expand access to free, life-changing programs for individuals with Down syndrome while strengthening a culture of acceptance, confidence, and achievement.

2025 Impact at a Glance

In 2025, together we accomplished:

780 families served
Since opening our doors in 2019, GiGi’s Playhouse Detroit has supported hundreds of families across Metro Detroit, with 780 families served through consistent, no-cost programming at every stage of life.

5,333 volunteer hours donated
Volunteers showed up week after week to tutor, lead programs, support events, and build meaningful relationships with our participants. Their time and commitment are among our greatest resources.

$479,636 raised to keep programs 100% free
Thanks to generous community investment, every educational, health, social connection, and career preparation program remained completely free, ensuring families could access support without financial barriers.

These numbers represent more than metrics. They represent moments of confidence gained, skills strengthened, friendships formed, and futures expanded.

What These Numbers Mean for Families

Behind every statistic is a family who found support, encouragement, and belonging.

In 2025, families accessed:

  • Literacy and math tutoring that builds lifelong learning skills
  • Health and wellness programs that promote strength, balance, and independence
  • Social and peer-based programming that reduces isolation and builds confidence
  • Opportunities to connect with other families navigating similar journeys

For many families, GiGi’s Playhouse is not just a program location. It is a community anchor.

In 2025, this meant a child reading independently for the first time, a young adult gaining confidence in a group setting, and parents finding a community that truly understands their journey.

Powered by Volunteers and Community Partners

Our impact would not be possible without volunteers and partners who believe in ability and inclusion.

Volunteers brought patience, passion, and consistency to every program hour. Community partners contributed sponsorships, in-kind support, expertise, and advocacy, helping us grow sustainably while deepening our reach.

Together, these supporters help shape a future in which individuals with Down syndrome are recognized for their strengths and supported in achieving their goals.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the next year, we are committed to:

  • Expanding access to high-quality, evidence-based programs
  • Strengthening support across the lifespan
  • Growing partnerships that advance inclusion beyond our walls
  • Removing barriers so every family feels welcomed and supported

The progress made in 2025 lays a strong foundation for what is ahead, and it is a foundation built by you.

Thank You for Making It Possible

To our donors, volunteers, families, and partners, thank you for believing in our mission and investing in our community. Your support made 2025 a year of meaningful impact, and together, we are just getting started.
