Fantastic Friends Embrace Fun and Independence at Funway Amusements

Guest Blogger: Becca Mansfield, Program Leader

In July, our Fantastic Friends group enjoyed a memorable evening at Funway Amusements in Farmington Hills. The outing offered something for everyone, with mini golf and go-karts providing the perfect mix of laid-back fun and high-energy excitement.

For many participants, taking the wheel on the track was the standout moment — a fun and empowering experience that encouraged independence in a safe, supportive setting.

It was a joyful evening filled with connection, encouragement, and shared moments. Everyone had a great time! A big thank-you to the team at Funway for being so welcoming and accommodating. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure!

If you would like to participate in, or volunteer for, our Fantastic Friends program, we meet the first Friday of each month at the playhouse from 6:30 – 8:30 PM. Please reach out to Kathleen, our Director of Programs, for more information at ktynes@gigisplayhouse.org.
