The Sky is the Limit

Meet Jeremiah Daniels who is a loving, energetic full of life 12 years old (soon to be 13) who was presented with an incredible opportunity! Jeremiah and his family heard of GiGi’s Playhouse when they were in Georgia and Jeremiah’s mom connected with us on social media. They came to our Denver playhouse to share his story. Read below about Jeremiah and his appearance in Color Book!

Jeremiah enjoys playing basketball, softball, golf and bowling with the Special Olympics in Colorado. He loves to play his Xbox; any basketball game is his favorite. He also enjoys spending time with my family and friends, and loves being an uncle. He loves to dance and listen to music every chance he gets, music is his happy place. From the beginning of his life doctors told have told us as his parents what he couldn’t or wouldn’t be able to do, however he has defied the odds with our support and that of his village. Jeremiah may have to work a little harder to accomplish goals, but he can, and he will. As parents we have instilled a confidence in him that allows him to walk into any room knowing he belongs. We are thankful to God for the opportunity to live this life and enjoy all that comes our way.

Jeremiah recently had the opportunity to participate in a movie presented by AT&T Untold Stories called Color Book. The world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on June 8,2024 it was amazing and an unforgettable experience. When the film debuted at the Denver Film Festival and won the American Independent Best Feature Film, it was truly a surreal experience for all. The film has won many awards and has been shown across the US. The opportunity to share with everyone Jeremiah’s ability and to tell a story so closely related to ours is humbling. We are thankful to the writer/director David Fortune for allowing Jeremiah to be seen in such a positive and able light.

Color Book is about a devoted single father adjusting to life after his wife’s passing while raising his son with Down Syndrome. They embark on a journey through Metro Atlanta to attend their first baseball game.

In the future Jeremiah is excited about 6th grade, playing basketball with friends and one day making more movies and commercials.

Jeremiah hopes that everyone knows that Down syndrome does not define him, it is something he has, not who he is. The sky is the limit for Jeremiah.

Being Jeremiah’s parents has helped us to see the World through his loving lens, it has helped us grow tremendously as people. We are thankful for our journey, not always easy but ALWAYS worth it!! He inspires us every day. From the moment he was born we always knew he’d be great.
