Embracing a New Chapter: Welcoming Our New Board President to GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago

I am honored to announce that I have been elected as the Board President for GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago! My journey with GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago started with the birth of my daughter, Lily, and her at birth diagnosis of Down syndrome. Amazingly, while in the NICU we met another family who also had a child (4 years old) with Down syndrome. They told us that everything was going to be okay and that there was a wonderful place called GiGi’s Playhouse where we could find people who would help us on our new path.

We were hooked. Lily is now 5 years old, and the Playhouse is like her second home. The moment she gets in the door she is making herself comfy and heading straight for the big mirror. Not only has Lily made friends at GiGi’s but I have as well. My partner, Sean, and I have met so many wonderful families through the Playhouse and I’m so thankful to each and every one for being a part of our story.

Now, as the newly elected Board President, I am excited to take on this leadership role and work alongside an amazing team dedicated to making a positive impact in the Down syndrome community and the city of Chicago. Together, we will continue to create a world where individuals with Down syndrome are celebrated, embraced, and given the opportunities they deserve.

I am grateful for the trust and support of the GiGi’s Playhouse community, and I can’t wait to contribute to the growth and success of this incredible organization. Thank you all for being a part of this journey with me!
