Once Again, It Was a Great PartyThanks everyone for showing up to our Holiday Pageant and Party. It was a great time for everyone. As expected, our Teen Drama Troupe made us laugh, cry and beam at their performance. Even though we had a whole group of Grinches stealing presents in the show, everyone’s heart grew three sizes bigger watching them perform. Once again, we need to give a huge shout-out to Mallory Schuh and Katie Yohe, whose dedication to creating — not just a great show — but a great program.
The party was also fantastic. It was great to see everyone who’s been a part of our community get together to celebrate the holidays. We have to thank: Sarah Koehn, for organizing the whole affair, Stage 773 for providing the space; Gary Vartabedian and Armand’s Pizzeria (4159 N. Western Avenue, 773.463.5200) for the yards and yards of pizza, the Pusatera, Yarbrough and Baar families for the drinks, and, of course, Santa.
And, as always, we need to thank our volunteers, without whom none of what we do would be possible. From the Drama Troupe’s facilitators (Kirsten Klotz, Katie White,Lawrence Kern,Justin Alcala,Cody Spellman,Kendra VanKempen,Andrew McGuire,Tom & Maria Yohe and Katie Garwood) to those who helped us with the party (Marni Bagnola,Isabel Diaz,Daniel McCracken,Lisa Vanacora,Nicole Vanacora and Aya), we owe them all a great deal of thanks.
We’ll be operating on a greatly reduced schedule over the next two weeks as we disperse for the holidays. But we’re already gearing up for 2012, don’t forget about our programs, which start up again the week of Jan. 16.
Enjoy the holidays, everyone!

Or, if you’re shopping for a music fan, note that O.A.R. (“The Official Rock Band of GiGi’s Playhouse Chicago”) has an album, “King,” that iTunes named one of the best of 2011. (They’re also playing Feb. 9 at the Aragon Ballroom.)
Finally, don’t forget the Gala is coming on Feb. 25. You can register for it here.
