#GenerationG Magazine: Representation Matters

Did you know there is a magazine dedicated to celebrating individuals with Down syndrome?

#GenerationG is a yearly publication that was the inspired idea of Franco Gianni, “The” GiGi Gianni’s brother. Now in its third issue, the mission of this publication is to “spread acceptance, awareness and empowerment for the Down syndrome community through the sharing of inspirational, educational and resourceful content that changes readers’ perspectives.” In a world where representation is often lacking for individuals with disabilities, it shows the world what is possible when individuals with Down syndrome are seen, heard and celebrated.

One look at the Contents page and you will see that these are not just feel-good stories. These are stories of potential, of relationships, of advocacy/self-advocacy and accomplishment. Important information about groundbreaking research helps parents feel supported and hopeful. Examples of inclusion show lives and minds being changed for the better, and ways to support and spread the #GenerationG movement gets everyone involved!
