New Year, New Tyler

Tyler Sims is a new person since giving up his off day to come to the playhouse on Wednesdays.  He comes to participate in Gratitude Committee, Speech Therapy and Literacy Tutoring.  In just 10 short weeks of Speech Therapy, Tyler has made tons of progress and is able to be understood so much more!  He always uses his Best Practices learned from TEAM.  When a stranger walks in, he doesn’t hesitate to stand up, walk over to them and very clearly say “My name is Tyler Sims, it’s nice to meet you” all while making eye contact.  His self-confidence has blossomed as he always walks in with a smile, saying hello to everyone.  Tyler comes to the playhouse on the Fort Bend transit.  He is responsible for setting an alarm on his phone to pack up his things and be on the look out for the bus.  His growth is amazing and we look forward to all the wonderful things GiGi Prep will bring out in him this summer!

From Tyler’s mom, Susie-

Tyler LOVES GiGi’s. Fact. He recently started participating in a speech pilot program with Ms. Ranjita. Tyler LOVES Ms Ranjita! In the few short weeks we have been working with her, we found her to be simply amazing! Speech is difficult for a Tyler, but with Ms. Ranjita he gives 110%. She is kind, caring, and compassionate. She expects a lot from Tyler and Tyler really tries for Ms Ranjita. She was extremely flexible in working with our family, as I work and Tyler goes to other activities. In addition to Ms. Ranjita and GiGi’s, Tyler loves to party. It really took me by surprise, when recently, Tyler turned down a Christmas lunch/party for one of his other activities because he told me he had “speech with Ms. Ranjita at Gigi’s”. Wow, that says it all. Tyler, Mr. party himself, gave up a Christmas lunch/party to do speech with Ms Ranjita. She is truly an amazing person. We love you Ms Ranjita!
