A Leader Who Inspires: Spotlight on Jessica, GiGiFIT Mentor & FBJSL Volunteer
At GiGi’s Playhouse Sugar Land, we are proud to work with volunteers who bring energy, heart, and dedication to every session—and Jessica is one of those people who shines from the moment she walks in.
Jessica serves not only as the dynamic leader of our GiGiFIT Teen Program, but also as our Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL) Placement Lead. She’s a phenomenal example of what true leadership looks like—balancing joy, professionalism, and connection with every participant she meets.
From Fort Bend to Penn State and Back Again
Jessica grew up right here in Fort Bend County and, after earning her degree from Penn State University, returned home to serve the community that raised her. She now works as a dedicated educator in Fort Bend ISD, where she brings the same passion for inclusion into her classroom that she shares at GiGi’s.
She began volunteering with GiGi’s Playhouse in Spring 2022 and quickly became a consistent and joyful presence in our teen programs. Since then, she’s become a beloved leader who makes an incredible difference each week—not only through structured programming, but through the meaningful relationships she builds with our participants.
Building Confidence Through Movement and Connection
As the lead of our GiGiFIT Teen Program, Jessica helps teens with Down syndrome stay active, engaged, and empowered through adaptive fitness instruction. Her sessions are filled with movement, music, and laughter—but they’re also designed with purpose: to help teens develop strength, balance, endurance, and self-confidence.
Jessica describes her time at GiGi’s as a joyful part of her week.
“I’ve always been drawn to working with kids,” she says. “At GiGi’s, I get to connect with them outside of my day-to-day job. My favorite thing about GiGi’s is how loving and accepting our participants are! I could have had the hardest day at work, but the moment I walk into GiGi’s, all of that stress melts away. Our participants are always ready with a high five or a smile. Even on their tough days, once they get moving in TeenFIT, they’re ready for a good time—especially if there’s dancing involved!”
Her energy, patience, and encouragement make each class feel like a celebration—and her teens clearly love the time they spend with her.
Representing FBJSL with Pride and Purpose
Jessica also represents GiGi’s Playhouse as our Placement Lead for the Fort Bend Junior Service League (FBJSL)—an incredible community partner made up of women who are passionate about service and inclusion. Through FBJSL, Jessica helps coordinate volunteers, support our programs and events, and build relationships that strengthen our mission.

The Heart of a Volunteer, the Spirit of a Leader
Volunteers like Jessica are the reason GiGi’s Playhouse is able to offer consistent, high-quality, free programming to families. Her leadership helps shape a culture where participants feel seen, valued, and encouraged to be their Best of All.
Her sessions are not just workouts—they’re confidence-builders. Her conversations are not just casual—they’re meaningful. And her presence is not just helpful—it’s inspiring.
To Jessica, thank you. You represent the very best of what it means to be part of the GiGi’s family.
