GiGi’s Playhouse Southern Tier; A Welcome to Our New Executive Director!

We are thrilled to announce that Jan McCauley has joined GiGi’s Playhouse Southern Tier as our new Executive Director! This role calls for a strategic, business-minded leader who can ensure the long-term sustainability, prominence, and operational excellence of our Playhouse—and Jan brings exactly that vision and experience to our team.

As Executive Director, Jan will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Playhouse, support and guide our dedicated team, and lead fundraising efforts that make our free programs possible. She will also play a key role in strengthening community awareness of the depth, reach, and life-changing impact of GiGi’s Playhouse programs throughout the Southern Tier.

In addition, Jan will focus on building a strong and visible community presence through donor outreach, cultivating media relationships, and expanding strategic partnerships. Her leadership will support grant writing initiatives, budget development and oversight, and the overall financial health of the organization. With Jan at the helm, we are confident that our Playhouse will continue to grow, thrive, and serve even more individuals and families.

Here is a little more about Jan and her background! Jan is deeply connected to the local community and brings a wealth of diverse experience to the Executive Director position at GiGi’’s Playhouse. Her career has largely focused on international and higher education, with her most recent role involving the launch of a nonprofit organization supporting international virtual exchange initiatives. Jan holds degrees from SUNY Plattsburgh in Anthropology (BA) and from The University of Texas in Latin American Studies (MA). In addition to her higher education experience, she has also worked at several local corporations in a variety of roles. Before stepping into the ED role, Jan participated in several GiGi’s Playhouse fundraisers and volunteered as a one-on-one literacy tutor. Jan is happy to do her part to help ensure a bright future for GiGi’s Playhouse Southern Tier!
