GiGi’s Playhouse Simi Valley Dash For Down syndrome event success!

Smiles, smiles, and more SMILES! That is what the third annual Dash for Down syndrome a GiGiFIT Acceptance Challenge brought to our community on June 1st. GiGi’s Playhouse Simi Valley supporters descended on Rancho Santa Susana Park in Simi Valley for a day filled with activities, fun, and acceptance. From a 5K run, inclusive dance performances, one-mile inspirational walk, Star Wars characters, baseball, crafts, lawn games, and the most joyous kid’s dash; there was something for everyone.  Over a dozen activities were set up and run by community volunteers. There was truly something for everyone of all ages and abilities. The morning was all about having a great time and sharing that time with friends and family, making connections with others in the community. A highlight of the day for many was the giant dance party complete with colorful scarves. It was very humbling to see everyone gathered enjoying the moment. Together we moved for acceptance!

As a group, participants took the GenerationG Pledge. With hearts and G’s drawn on our palms, everyone raised their hands and pledged to make a conscious decision to be better every day, be accepting, be generous, and kind. Together we are helping to spread the message of acceptance for all. The outpouring of support, love, and acceptance was very evident throughout the day. The excitement for the upcoming opening of GiGi’s Playhouse in Simi Valley was abundant.
