August Volunteer of the Month: Carey
Carey and her family are fairly new to GiGi’s Playhouse Rochester, but she has already made a big impact. She first got involved by participating in LMNOP with her son, Abel, and quickly felt the welcoming spirit of our community. What began as a way to engage with her child turned into something more, an opportunity for Carey to share her own talents in a meaningful way.
This summer, Carey approached us with the idea of hosting a cookie decorating night for our Teen Tastic and Fantastic Friends programs. Her creativity and organization made it a huge success!
With summer-themed cookies, vibrant frosting, and all the sprinkles you can imagine, Carey Created a space where everyone could tap into their creativity, socialize, and have a blast. Each participant became their own professional cookie decorator for the evening. The room was full of laughter, bright colors, and sweet treats, and the smiles on everyone’s faces said it all. Carey’s attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and genuine love for building connections made the vent truly unforgettable.
Carey even went the extra mile by putting together personalized summer buckets for each participant to take home. They are filled with festive goodies that continued the fun long after the event ended.
Carey has already become such a valued part of our community. We’re so excited that she found a space to connect, give back, and thrive. We can’t wait to see what she brings to future programs. Thank you, Carey, for your creativity, generosity, and heart. We’re lucky to have you!
