Myth: People with Down syndrome cannot live independent lives

Facts to disprove myth:

The Global Down Syndrome Foundation stated that many adults with Down syndrome are able to live entirely independently, and the amount is rising. Many adults with Down syndrome live alone with only limited or check-in assistance. Many individuals with Down syndrome graduate high school, attend post-secondary education, have successful careers and relationships. They are valued members of their communities who are able to make great contributions to society.
