Not Your Typical First Day

Jenna Crowe has taken on the role of Executive Director for GiGi’s Playhouse Denver. With an enthusiasm to start, she was offered the opportunity to join GiGi’s Annual Leadership Conference which took place in the Chicago area November 6th-9th. Below she will share her experience and what she is looking forward to bringing to GiGi’s Playhouse in Denver!

My first day as an employee of GiGi’s Playhouse, I got on a flight to head to Chicago for GiGi’s Playhouse Annual Leadership Conference.  Once I arrived at the National Playhouse I was greeted on brand with warm welcomes and acceptance. I got to hear from Nancy Gianni herself, telling her story and providing us with a passionate tour. From the inspiring stories, to the amazing programs, to the amount of impact nationwide, I soaked up so much on this day. The number one thing I took away from this day is how I should approach my every day running the operations of the Denver Playhouse, putting quality services and celebrating our families above all.

The next two days of the conference were all about building connections and learning. Walking into an environment with 300+ people and not knowing many can cause a little bit of anxiety, but with GiGi’s, I found it easy to meet new people and have meaningful conversations. I got an introduction to more staff members at the National Playhouse and all across other locations. I got to hear from the new CEO, VP of Programs, and VP of Marketing about our impact and vision moving into 2025. I was also able to attend informational sessions learning about events, finances, program operations, and marketing. Most importantly I got to collaborate with other team members across other GiGi’s locations, sharing ideas and building connections to spread a shared message and goal across the nation.

I am coming back to the Denver Playhouse with steam and inspiration. I am looking forward to meeting all the families and participants, hearing your feedback and celebrating successes with you.

Working with Aspen, our Program and Volunteer Coordinator, and all our Board members, we are enthusiastic about the possibilities GiGi’s Playhouse Denver brings. We have exciting new programs, new resources/speakers for families, and extended playhouse hours coming your way. Stay tuned!

By listening to families, embracing the GiGi’s model and working to expand into our community, we will make a conscious decision to be better every day.
