Third Times a Charm for GiGiFIT Teen Participant

As the GiGiFIT Teen and Adult Fall Session kicks off, we’re excited to introduce one of our most dedicated participants.

Meet Lydia! Lydia is no stranger to the GiGiFIT program. She has attended the last two GiGiFIT sessions offered at the Denver Playhouse and is excited to return for a third time this fall. Why? Lydia enjoys participating in the different exercises, all while jamming out to tunes each week – including her favorites from the new Little Mermaid soundtrack.

One of her favorite parts of the GiGiFIT Teen program is working with her sister. Lydia encourages other participants to involve their siblings and friends in the program. GiGiFIT works best when everyone works on their fitness together; whether you are a sibling or friend, you can sign up for the seasonal schedule.

GiGiFIT Teen participants engage in various progressive and interactive activities each week. But Lydia wanted to share that this program is not all work. During cooldowns and the last few minutes of the session, you can find Lydia playing air hockey, getting a quick round in for a board game, or busting a move to her favorite songs.

What is GiGiFIT?

The GiGiFIT program is truly life-changing and helps participants strive for their personal BEST OF ALL!

GiGiFIT addresses common issues for individuals with Down syndrome, including hypotonia, excessive joint laxity, and decreased balance. This program is safe, effective, and progressive throughout the multi-week session. GiGiFIT helps participants build strength, endurance, joint stability, balance, and motor control. Participants are empowered to be more independent and confident in their abilities, all while improving overall health and wellness. In fact, the physical therapists at Mann Method PT and Fitness in nearby Arvada, Colorado, designed exclusively for the GiGi’s Playhouse global network.

Stop by to visit Coach Lauren and the GiGiFIT Teen participants each week at the Denver Playhouse on Thursdays at 5:00 p.m. The session will run from September 28 – December 14.
