Volunteer Spotlight: Elizabeth!
Tell us about yourself!
I have been married to Brian for 28 years. We have 2 young adult children. Our daughter just got engaged and we are so excited and planning a 2026 wedding. Or son is a junior at University of Cincinnati in the nursing program. We have a dog that we spoil. I like reading, hiking, spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, and I’ll travel anywhere!
What got you involved at GiGi’s Playhouse?
I have been a support to persons with disabilities and their families since I was in college. My good friend Anna asked me to try GiGi’s as she knew I’d love it. I started volunteering because I appreciate being a part of something special. GiGi’s is a very special place. I love it because it’s so great to see the smiles, friendships made, skills learned, and growth in all areas of development of all the program participants!
Why do you love GiGi’s Playhouse?
Everyone is so welcome here. All the wonderful people who attend programs, the families, Board Members, volunteers, and the small but mighty staff make GiGi’s the special place that it is. I also love watching the growth of every child- siblings too!
What impact has GiGi’s Playhouse had on you?
I love having a place to share my love of learning in small groups. I’ve learned that the most special moments can be the connections made when families come together and share successes and challenges.
What is one piece of advice you’d give to a new volunteer? To a new family curious about GiGi’s Playhouse?
To interested volunteers: you’ll get so much joy from the experience of spending time with everyone at GiGi’s. And to a new family, I would say visit and see what the magic is all about! Come see me at LMNOP!
Elizabeth, THANK YOU for sharing your light and welcoming spirit with our Playhouse, and your commitment to creating an accepting where all can be celebrated! We are so grateful to you for being not just a friendly face, but a resource to our participants and their families! Thank you for giving your time and energy to all of our friends, and for bringing the spirit of #GenerationG to life by being generous, accepting, and kind!
