GiGi’s Playhouse Charleston to Sponsor Resilient Arrows All Abilities Run!

Resilient Arrows All Abilities Run!

May 18th, 2024

4800 Park Circle, North Charleston, SC 29405

GiGi’s Playhouse Charleston will be a sponsor for the Resilient Arrow Project’s Inaugural Resilient Arrow All Abilities Run (RAAAR). The Resilient Arrow Project is an initiative born from intentional symbolism and deep inspiration. Its name reflects the resilience and potential of the population it serves—children facing difficult conditions yet displaying remarkable strength and perseverance. “Resilient” signifies the ability to withstand and recover from challenges, emphasizing that these children, though stretched or bent, are never broken. The term “Arrow” draws from Psalms 127:4-5, likening children to arrows in the hands of a warrior, representing their potential impact and perfect trajectory. The project seeks to spread love and joy, inspired by the unconditional love received from a higher power. Each child is viewed as a resilient arrow, capable of making significant impacts despite obstacles, and the project aims to support them in reaching their full potential.

The Inaugural Resilient Arrow All abilities Run, Walk and Roll (RAAAR!) will be held May 18, 2024 at Park Circle North Charleston, SC. The 1/4K run will conclude right beside the World’s Largest Inclusive Playground! Local Vendors, Live Music, and Food Trucks will provide a fun environment for everyone. All proceeds will benefit the Brave Like a Lion Scholarship for children to receive life-changing therapy intensives nationwide.

The Brave-Like-a-Lion Scholarship is a financial endowment provided to families pursuing Intensive Therapy services. This scholarship was formed in honor of our friend, James Ryan Henson Jr, the original Brave-Like-a-Lion example. He and his family have advocated for intensive therapies for children with medical complexities and helped to educate clinicians and families on the value of this treatment approach. James passed away in December 2022 unexpectedly but the Light and Joy that he spread in his “Jamesyness” will remain with each of us forever. This scholarship is intended to sprinkle a little Jamesyness just as he always did.

Check In will begin at 7:30AM with the 1K Run starting at 9:00AM. Everyone is encouraged to participate with the expectation of Runners, walkers and rollers all finishing strong at the Park Circle Pavilion. Kids will have plenty of time to enjoy the wonderful playground, vendors and food trucks as the Party will continue until 12:00PM.

If you would like to sign-up for the event, visit this link: https://resilientarrow.com/raaar

We hope to see you all there!
