Mom’s Afternoon at the Playhouse: Comfort, Connection, and Community

This past weekend, GiGi’s Playhouse Charleston hosted a special Mom’s Afternoon—a time dedicated to relaxation, connection, and self-care. It was a beautiful opportunity for moms in our community to come together, breathe deeply, and take a well-deserved moment for themselves.
The afternoon was led by Kristal, founder of Daily Comfort by Kristal, who guided us through a powerful and soothing self-care ritual. Krystal shared her deeply personal journey of creating her skincare line following her experience with postpartum depression. Through her vulnerability, she reminded us that healing and comfort can start with something as simple—and meaningful—as caring for ourselves.
Her skincare session flowed into a guided meditation focused on our inner child, gently encouraging us to acknowledge past hardships and reconnect with ourselves. Krystal’s words helped us release the weight of self-doubt and gave us permission to prioritize our own well-being—something that often gets lost in the day-to-day of parenting.
After the meditation, we gathered for snacks and heartfelt conversation. Moms opened up, shared their stories, laughed, and offered support to one another in a way that only a community like this can provide.
It was a beautiful reminder that GiGi’s Playhouse isn’t just for our children—it’s for families. It’s for the moms who show up every day with love and strength, and who deserve moments of comfort, reflection, and connection.
We’re so grateful to Kristal for sharing her story, her tools, and her heart with us. And to all the moms who joined us—you are seen, valued, and never alone.
