Best of All — Rylan

At GiGi’s Playhouse Cincinnati, we believe every step forward is a cause for celebration. Today, we’re thrilled to highlight the incredible progress of one of our dedicated participants, Rylan! This young man has taken so many steps, both big and small, while growing and learning here at the Playhouse.

Rylan has been a vibrant part of our Playhouse for about a year. His journey began by dropping into the Playhouse to play, where he got a feel for the welcoming and inclusive environment that GiGi’s offers. Lot’s of time was spent having fun shooting hoops and having pretend picnics! He then began attending group programs like Kids Club and Destination Discovery. Initially, transitioning from the unstructured open play to the more structured group programs was a challenge for Rylan. However, his curiosity and courage have shone through, and with each visit, he has shown remarkable improvement in his participation and engagement.

Embracing Programs and Making Strides

Rylan is now an active participant in several of our programs. His enthusiasm and curiosity are evident as he dives into the activities and interacts with his peers more and more each time. One of the most notable aspects of Rylan’s journey has been during 1:1 Speech Therapy with SLP Kim and Speech Intern Grace. Together, they have been working diligently to build sentences and use prepositions. With each session, Rylan’s focus and determination grows!

If there’s one thing everyone at the Playhouse knows about Rylan, it’s that “ball is life.” His love for play and sports is infectious, bringing joy and energy to every session he attends. Most days Rylan visits the Playhouse will end at the basketball hoop. Whether it’s a game of catch or an activity involving a ball, Rylan’s face lights up with excitement and enthusiasm, making this activity a great motivator for him to work hard throughout programs!

Rylan’s dad, Mark, recently shared a heartfelt message with us: “I am writing to let you know how appreciative I am for GiGi’s Playhouse. It has been a fun and inclusive place. Ry is always asking to go back to GiGi’s to play. Thank you for all that you do!” Mark’s words resonate deeply with our mission at GiGi’s Playhouse. We strive to create a nurturing and supportive environment where every individual feels valued and empowered to achieve their best.

As we celebrate Rylan’s progress, we also look forward to the many milestones yet to come. Thank you, Rylan, for inspiring us with your hard work and joyful spirit!
