She attends or has attended many of our group programs, such as Teen Tastic, Fantastic Friends, GiGiFIT, Yoga, Book Club,\u00a0 GiGi&#8217;s Kitchen, and Friends, Fun, and Fitness. While attending these programs both virtually and in-person she has made many meaningful relationships with her peers. In addition, she has participated in our 1-1 tutoring programs, where she has made amazing progress.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_22803\" style=\"width: 235px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/westchester\/files\/2022\/05\/IMG_0472.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22803\" class=\"wp-image-22803 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/westchester\/files\/2022\/05\/IMG_0472-225x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/westchester\/files\/2022\/05\/IMG_0472-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/westchester\/files\/2022\/05\/IMG_0472.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-22803\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Molly&#8217;s amazing Irish Soda Bread.<\/p><\/div>\n<h4>Literacy 1-1 Tutoring<\/h4>\n<p>For the past two sessions, Molly has been learning words from the NY Times Spelling Bee with Dani, her tutor, as part of her level 3 literacy project. Together, they have explored spelling the words, they have learned the definitions, and most importantly used them in sentences. During this session, Molly has written a short story where she has managed to incorporate most of the words learned. It is an amazing short story and we are excited to share it with you all!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center\">Rejected Love by Molly<\/h2>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>When I heard my crush had a girlfriend, I felt very <strong>despondent<\/strong>. When my crush tried to hug me, I <strong>analyzed<\/strong> my feelings and yelled at him. When he came close to me, I could feel my heartbeat <strong>escalate<\/strong>. We <strong>boycotted<\/strong> each other for five years. When I tried to talk to him, I ended up calling him <strong>solipsistic<\/strong>. He told me he knew what he did was <strong>egregious<\/strong>. I felt like he was <strong>denigrating<\/strong> me because I have a disability. But then he told me it would mean a lot if we had a <strong>camaraderie<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My crush invited me to his <strong>shivoo<\/strong>. He made a playlist of <strong>Zydeco<\/strong> music. And his friends said, \u201cDude, you have a weird taste in music.\u201d I was dancing on his counter with a red Solo cup in my hand. When he tried to get me down from the counter, I passed out in his arms.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When I woke up, I told him I felt <strong>bilious<\/strong>. His friend walked into his room to show off his new <strong>bulbul<\/strong>. My crush was very <strong>nonplussed<\/strong>. He wasn\u2019t expecting a bird to be at his party. Then, out of nowhere, I farted. You should\u2019ve seen the look on my crush\u2019s face. He said, \u201cGet out of my room. And take that <strong>noisome<\/strong> fart with you.\u201d LOL.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I went to a funeral because my grandma had died, and I didn\u2019t want to be there. When I was about to give my <strong>elegy<\/strong> at the funeral, I fell to my knees, sobbing. My crush ran over to me and said, \u201cIt\u2019s okay, I\u2019m right here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cWhat she meant to say was that she loved her grandma so much.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My crush had to carry me out of the church. I felt my face <strong>falter<\/strong> when my crush put my head against his chest. I felt <strong>moribund<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The funeral business is very <strong>lucrative<\/strong> and <strong>impartial<\/strong>. No one <strong>cowered<\/strong> at the funeral. My crush took me to the Cheesecake Factory to cheer me up and thought it was <strong>beneficial<\/strong>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My crush took me to Italy for my thirty-second birthday. We couldn\u2019t stop embarrassing each other on the plane. After we checked in to our hotel, we had to visit the famous <strong>campanile<\/strong>. My crush wanted us to climb onto it. So, we did. When I looked down, I had a panic attack. My crush had to tickle my back to keep me from crying while I was cowering. At that moment, I felt a <strong>dearth<\/strong> of bravery. The<strong> gist<\/strong> of going to Italy was to have a fun time with my crush.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I went to my high school reunion, and I bumped into my crush. A girl yelled at me and said, \u201cWhy are you hitting on my boyfriend?\u201d Victoria and I got into a really big fight. You should\u2019ve seen how angry she was. My crush had to step in and yelled Victoria for attacking me. My crush asked me if I wanted to go for a walk. And I said, yes. We were fascinated by a beautiful red and yellow <strong>medlar<\/strong>. My crush asked me for a slow dance. (It was very, very slow). So, I took his hand while he brought me close into his arms. I felt pretty <strong>implacable<\/strong> when he talked about his girlfriend. Even though I was still emotional, I was <strong>lucid<\/strong> when he told me he was happy.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A <strong>chinook<\/strong> landed on the roof of the school, and that\u2019s when Victoria yelled, \u201cI swear to God, if you get on with her, I\u2019m going to be really mad.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My face started to look <strong>rubicund<\/strong> from blushing too much. My crush and I made a run for it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 When I got home, I took a nice refreshing <strong>ablution<\/strong>. My crush was at my door crying and told me his girlfriend had broken up with him. So, I showed him something <strong>kitschy<\/strong>, and he kind of laughed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I told him, \u201cWhy should I be there for you? You weren\u2019t there for me when I needed you the most.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 My crush told me, \u201cYou have every right to be mad at me, and I get it; you\u2019re hurting. All I am is an <strong>archetypal<\/strong>, self-centered, selfish, jerky wrestler that messed up big time. It wasn\u2019t my intention to hurt you. Hit me, push, or slap me for all I care. We all know I deserve it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u201cLeave me alone!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cI\u2019m not leaving until you smile and laugh. I shouldn\u2019t have made nasty <strong>innuendoes<\/strong>. That was wrong of me. The notion of my friendless was a <strong>fallacy<\/strong>.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u201cMy heart physically hurts right now because of your <strong>hypocrisy<\/strong>. I can\u2019t sleep at night. I think of you twenty-four-seven.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I found myself sobbing in bed, eating ice cream. He tried to take the ice cream away from me and pulled me in close and started to rub my head until I was asleep. My crush stopped rubbing my head and tucked me into bed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The next day, we started to hang out, and I was holding a whipped cream pie.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I said, \u201cLook up. Look down. Look all around. Your pants are falling down.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Then I threw the pie into this face. My crush started chasing me around the table, and I said, \u201cMiss me, miss me, now you gotta kiss me.\u201d My crush gave me one big sloppy kiss on each cheek.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The day after, we took a yoga class together. Whenever he talked too loud, the <strong>Guru<\/strong> shushed him.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ten years later, we got married. An <strong>acolyte<\/strong> helped out the priest at the wedding. We also had two daughters. My husband was an <strong>eclectic<\/strong>.
