Here are some activities that are fun and purposeful.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Messy Play<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sensory bin using shaving foam, maybe best for outside.<\/li>\n<li>Cornstarch and water \u2013 again best outside, action figures or cars could be placed in this mixture.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make slime, everyone loves slime!\u00a0<\/strong>Add food coloring or glitter or googly eyes to make it fun!\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Basic fluffy\u00a0slime recipe (without Borax)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none\">\n<ul>\n<li>Put 1\/2 cup shampoo and 1\/4 cup of cornstarch in a bowl. Mix well. Add 3 drops of food coloring (optional). Add 1 tablespoon of water and stir. Slowly add 5 more tablespoons of water, stirring well after each one. Knead the\u00a0<strong>slime<\/strong>\u00a0for around 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other ideas<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Scavenger hunts around the garden now the weather is becoming warm or in the house, with a prize at the end.<\/li>\n<li>Make a lego\/duplo village<\/li>\n<li>Dress up in a variety of outfits and have a photo shoot<\/li>\n<li>Put on a puppet show<\/li>\n<li>Bowling \u2013 use plastic bottles weighted down with rice\/water \u2013 whatever you can spare \u2013 place questions or letters or sums under each bottle. When that bottle is knocked down, they need to answer the question, give you an object that begins with sound, answer the sum etc. This can be adapted to your child\u2019s ability.<\/li>\n<li>Build a fort<\/li>\n<li>Inside obstacle course (in, on, over, under using household furniture and objects &#8211; using painters tape to highlight the route) &#8211; we would love to see photos and videos! Please tag us on social media<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Games<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Play Simon Says, Bingo, I spy, Charades, Keep the balloon up \u2013 how long can you manage?<\/li>\n<li>Play every game you have in the house!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Educational but fun, some ideas for older kids!<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn about a new animal or country each day and make a scrapbook with your new found knowledge<\/li>\n<li>Create a Covid-19 playlist &#8211; covering all genres and decades!<\/li>\n<li>Time capsule<\/li>\n<li>Daily news review<\/li>\n<li>Family Journal\/Blog, which could be added to the time capsule.
