Sure, March 21<\/strong> represents the triplication of the 21st chromosome, but for us, it represents something bigger: the amazing, unstoppable achievements our participants bring into the world each day.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

Because Progress Happens Here Every Day<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Across the GiGi\u2019s Playhouse<\/strong> network, individuals with Down syndrome<\/strong> are breaking barriers. That progress is made possible through GiGi\u2019s Playhouse\u2019s<\/strong> commitment to free, purposeful, research\u2011based educational, therapeutic, and career programs<\/strong> that support individuals from infancy through adulthood. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the driving force behind those achievements? A deep belief that every individual with Down syndrome<\/strong> is capable of greatness when given opportunity, support, and encouragement. <\/p>\n\n\n

GiGi\u2019s Playhouse<\/strong> is part of a global movement for acceptance, connection, and empowerment<\/strong>. With over 61 locations across the U.S. and Mexico<\/strong> and virtual programming reaching families worldwide, our Wausau Playhouse<\/strong> is plugged into something much larger\u2014a network that celebrates ability, inclusion, and growth<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

That global momentum inspires us at the local level to be seen and recognized by our local community for all of our participants achievements as well as promoting inclusion and acceptance everywhere our participants go. When we see GiGi Gianni<\/strong>\u2014our organization\u2019s namesake\u2014addressing the United Nations<\/strong> to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day<\/strong> or singing the National Anthem at White Sox<\/strong> games and advocate for global acceptance, it reminds us that the voices in our community matter too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

If GiGi can speak and sing on an international stage, imagine what our Wausau<\/strong> participants might do next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We love celebrating our community\u2019s energy, courage, and spark year\u2011round\u2014but WDSD gives us the chance to turn the celebration up even louder and celebrate what makes individuals with Down syndrome<\/strong> extra special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re kicking off the celebration early with a Community Ice Cream Social<\/strong>\u2014a delicious chance for families, friends, volunteers, and supporters to come together and celebrate the joy and connection that makes GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Wausau<\/strong> so special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the big day itself, March 21<\/strong>, we\u2019re rolling out the runway for a spectacular Fashion Show and Performance<\/strong>, starring our amazing participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expect confidence.
Expect creativity.
Expect joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of all, expect to see individuals with Down syndrome<\/strong> shining exactly as they are\u2014proud, powerful, and full of potential.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

GiGi\u2019s Playhouse<\/strong> exists to create a world where individuals with Down syndrome<\/strong> are embraced in their families, schools, workplaces, and communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

World Down Syndrome Day<\/strong> helps us amplify that message. Every cheer at the fashion show<\/strong>, every connection made over ice cream<\/strong>, every moment of celebration helps expand understanding and build a more accepting community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
