What is GivingTuesday?
GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that unleashes the power of radical generosity around the world.
GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
GivingTuesday strives to build a world in which the catalytic power of generosity is at the heart of the society we build together, unlocking dignity, opportunity, and equity around the globe.
GivingTuesday’s global network collaborates year-round to inspire generosity around the world, with a common mission to build a world where generosity is part of everyday life.
When is GivingTuesday?
The annual celebration event will take place on November 30, 2021.
How can you participate in GivingTuesday?
There are hundreds of ways to participate in GivingTuesday. Whether you give your voice, goods, your time, or your money, being generous is a way to fight for the causes you care about and help people in need.
Here are some ideas you might consider:
- Give your time and talent: Volunteer, give your skills!
- Give your voice: share our Facebook posts on your social media!
- Give money: Donate to GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau! We have double matching funds, so a $50 donation is $150!
- Give goods: visit our Wish Lists!
- Give kindness: It does not cost a thing! Pay for the car behind you at the drive thru. Write a thank you note to someone who made a difference. Bake and deliver treats to the fire or police station. Check out our heart template to decorate and give to someone that has made a difference!
Why should you participate in GivingTuesday?
Whether it’s making someone smile, helping a neighbor or stranger out, showing up for an issue or people we care about, or giving some of what we have to those who need our help or a local non-profit, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give.
GiGi’s Playhouse Wausau has matching funds X 3!
For a second year in a row GiGi’s has an anonymous donor that will be matching funds up to $1,000…new this year is that funds will be matched X 3! So, a $50 donation, will be $200! The Playhouse will be using all funds to expand programming in 2022!
