Development, Inspiration, Growth, and Awards at National Conference

2022 GiGi’s National Leadership Conference

Every November, GiGi’s dedicates almost a week of training and development for our national network of Playhouses through the National Leadership Conference. This year, close to 60 Playhouse locations including many startups joined together for networking and learning opportunities related to our mission. Although our Wausau team that attended was smaller than years prior, that did not stop us from showing just how MIGHTY we can be and ultimitely standing out in the network!

The week was filled with speakers and breakout sessions that included topics on programming, marketing, development, financial health, technology and data, volunteer management, leadership, and more. The Wausau team (Playhouse Manager Erica, Board President Nicole, Board Secretary Rebecca, Youth Board President Maddie, and Self-Advocate Missy) participated in a variety of presentations and gained insight on how we can best serve our participants, be a leader in the community, grow our Playhouse, and so much more.

The inspiring week culminated in a celebratory dinner and awards ceremony where top Playhouses, volunteers, and staff are honored for their selfless service to their respective communities. And we are excited to share with our community how our small but mighty Playhouse was recognized! We were 1 of 5 Playhouses in the network to achieve Strong or Center of Excellence on all seven Standards of Execution. SOE’s are the expectations of Playhouses and how they operate.  Our Wausau team has always strived to best serve our participants and the community and it shows!

Even more exciting recognition annoucements coming!
