Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer and impacting the lives of individuals living with Down syndrome. GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our programs vibrant, educational, purposeful, fun, and free. Since the first Playhouse opened in 2003, GiGi’s Playhouse programs have always been free for our families. Parents, family members, clinicians, and individuals who believe in the GiGi’s Playhouse mission act as volunteers in GiGi’s Playhouse programs, events, administrative offices, and on our Board of Members.

Volunteer Opportunities

Programs

Each Playhouse has educational programs throughout the week and on the weekends at designated times (check your local Playhouse webpage for specific times). Volunteers are used to support the program host, interact with the kids and set up and take down materials used for the program. If you are a therapist or educator and are interested in starting or running a program, let us know!

Tutors

Are you interested in changing the life of a person with Down syndrome? Tutoring just one hour per week in our Literacy and Math program will do just that. We provide training, support, and resources for you to make a difference. Please learn more on our Programs page.

Administrative

Like to be on the computer?  Like to work on projects?  Each Playhouse is always looking for administrative volunteers to help with thank you letters, creating books for our literacy program, database entry, and more!

Events

Each Playhouse has exciting events that are run by volunteers!!  Golf outings, 5K Walk/Run, Buddy Walks, Fashion shows…you name it!  We are always in need of volunteers for these events – from being a committee member to helping the day of the event, we need your assistance!

Committee positions are open in IT, Board Development, Programs, Finance, Fundraising, and Strategic Planning.

Group Volunteering

Have a group interested in volunteering together? The more, the better!  Contact your local Playhouse, and together we will set up your volunteer opportunities!
