Not only do they provide all programs free of cost, but it also provides a community of support. I am also involved in a Behavior Analysis research lab at USF.&#8221; \u00a0In her free time she\u00a0enjoys reading and spending time outdoors at the beach or hiking and spending time with my friends and family.<\/div>\n<h1><strong>Destination Discovery is Play + Fun + Learning<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p>Destination Discovery supports the therapeutic-based development of individuals with Down syndrome, with goals of achieving the following:<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u2022 Increase social skills, with focus on group participation and increasing leisure<br \/>\nactivity options.<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase language development, with foc<span class=\"text_exposed_show\">us on vocabulary development,<br \/>\nreceptive language skills such as following directions and answering basic<br \/>\nquestions and promoting successful interaction with peers.<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase gross motor skills at each individual\u2019s level through games and<br \/>\nactivities aimed at active play.<br \/>\n\u2022 Increase fine motor skills, with focus on self-help skills and independent work.<br \/>\nIn addition, the family will receive a Best of All book to build knowledge and:<br \/>\n\u2022 Understand the purpose behind all of GiGi\u2019s Playhouse programs.<br \/>\n\u2022 Implement activities at home to build skills and increase motor and language<br \/>\ndevelopment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emily Edginton is the Playhouse Sunday Destination Discovery Team Leader and the program is offered for all ages. \u00a0Emily is a registered behavior Technician at Engage Behavioral Health and provides direct services to teens and children. \u00a0&#8220;I heard about Gigi&#8217;s from a professor and immediatly thought it sounded like an amazing place.
