GiGi’s Playhouse is a “Place” for Adults too

TRANSCRIPT OF LETTER

My name is Nick Altieri.  I was nominated and chosen for the Tampa Bay Lightning Community hero in December 2017 and was given $50,000 to donate to the charity of my choice.  I chose GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa.

BUT WHY GiGi’s Playhouse ?

GiGi’s Playhouse is a place to go and to feel loved, wanted, important and safe.  It is for all individuals with Down syndrome.  It is a place to learn new skills, play, hangout with my peers and most important to me as a 29 year old with Down syndrome is to become a leader and mentor for the next generation under me.  I want to be a role model for them so they they can reach their “Best of All”.

I have two best friends and they are David Scott and Sam Piazza.  We have been best friends since we were young.  GiGi’s Playhouse will now be able to bring me a community of friendships through our programs and events held right here at our Playhouse.

I am very excited to get a lot of our programs started.  If you have someone in your family with Down syndrome, please stop by the Playhouse or register them at our website.  You’ll be opening a door for them to great friendships, great experiences and to learn  more things about the Playhouse.

Look for Nick on a Welcome Window

Nick was selected by Transco Public Insurance Adjusters to be the model on one of sponsorship Welcome Windows. GiGi’s Playhouse Tampa has our home thanks to all of the community support, just like the Transco team who advocates for Florida insurance policy holders. www.altieritransco.com
