Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer and impact the lives of individuals living with Down syndrome. GiGi’s Playhouse is a volunteer-run organization and we rely on the skill and dedication of volunteers of various levels of expertise to keep our programs vibrant, educational, purposeful, fun and free. Since the first Playhouse opened in 2003, GiGi’s Playhouse programs have always been free for our families. \u00a0Parents, family members, clinicians, and individuals who believe in the GiGi’s Playhouse mission act as volunteers in GiGi’s Playhouse programs, events, administrative offices, and on our Board of Members. We look forward to helping you connect and impact our community!<\/p>\n

Volunteer Opportunities<\/strong><\/h1>\n

Programs:<\/h2>\n

GiGi’s playhouse Syracuse offers both virtual & in-person programs throughout the week and on the weekends at designated times. Volunteers are used to support the program host, interact with the kids, set up and take down materials used for the program and share ideas to keep our programming purposeful & fun! If you are a therapist or educator and are interested in starting or running a program, let us know!<\/p>\n

Literacy Tutors:<\/h2>\n

Interested in helping a child learn to read?\u00a0 Then our literacy program is perfect for you!\u00a0 We have specific training for tutors which includes observation hours.\u00a0 Make a difference!<\/p>\n

Math Tutors:<\/h2>\n

Interested in helping a child strengthen their math skills?\u00a0 Then our Math program is perfect for you!\u00a0 We have specific training for tutors which includes observation hours.\u00a0 Make a difference!<\/p>\n

Administrative:<\/h2>\n

Like to be on the computer?\u00a0 Like to work on projects?\u00a0 The Syracuse Playhouse is always looking for administrative volunteers to help with thank you letters, creating books for our literacy program, database entry, and more!<\/p>\n

Events:<\/h2>\n

The Syracuse Playhouse has exciting events that are run by volunteers!!\u00a0 Golf outings, 5K Walk\/Run,\u00a0 Fashion shows…you name it!\u00a0 We are always in need of volunteers for these events – from being a committee member to helping the day of the event, we need your assistance!<\/p>\n

Committee positions are open in IT, Board Development, Programs, Finance, Fundraising, Marketing, and Strategic Planning.<\/p>\n
