If you have ever been to a GiGi’s Playhouse, you know just how important volunteers are in our
\nmission to provide free and purposeful programming to individuals with Down syndrome.
\nToday, we would like to recognize and give a huge thanks to these three students from the
\nUniversity of Houston– Saphal, Himali, and Aakash. Back in September, these college students
\nreached out to us, seeking to get involved in volunteering with GiGi\u2019s Playhouse. For the past
\nfew months, they have been coming every Friday to lead a computer class for our participants,
\nin which they teach them how to navigate their own personal email accounts.
\nFrom the very beginning, Saphal, Himali, and Aakash have come into the Playhouse each Friday
\nwith enthusiasm, initiative and the upmost patience and kindness to all of our participants. We
\nare so incredibly thankful for you three outstanding young adults! Your generous gift of your
\ntime and skills have created a ripple effect here at GiGi’s Playhouse Sugar Land. Because of you
\nthree, our adult participants have been sending personalized emails to their friends, family
\nmembers, volunteers, and even an email to GiGi’s Playhouse’s founder and Chief Belief Officer,
\nNancy Gianni, thanking her for creating GiGi\u2019s. Everyone was so excited when Nancy replied!
\nSo many individuals have reached out to us, letting us know how excited they were to receive
\nan email from a participant that was a friend or family member they don\u2019t get to see very often!
\nThis is a perfect example of how acts of kindness can extend far beyond your intended
\nrecipients!<\/p>\n
