With familiar faces and many new ones, GiGi’s Playhouse Sacramento’s 3rd annual golf outing might have been the best one yet! Our golf outing took place on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Catta Verdera Country Club in Lincoln, CA, and for the third year in a row, it was a sold out event with 156 golfers ready FORE some fun!

Golfers, sponsors and volunteers were spoiled with a beautiful and sunny day at the course. We could not have asked for better weather! On full display at registration, our generous presenting sponsor, Niello BMW of Sacramento and Elk Grove, displayed beautiful BMW vehicles. We also kick started the day with breakfast burritos, coffee and the world famous Bloody Mary bar that is becoming quite a popular feature of our annual golf outing thanks to our board member, Ashley Lasiter, and her husband Joey.

After filling up, golfers were off to their holes for a 10:00 a.m. shotgun start. Special kudos to the Seisa foursomes who proudly and lovingly displayed their loved one with Down syndrome on their golf carts! It was such a special reminder of why we were all there. On the course, golfers enjoyed beverages donated by Auburn Ale House and Sammy Hagar, while also participating in activities like the “Faster Par 3” hole and various activities by some of our sponsors – Fallen Pollen, Crumley & Associates and The Judd Team. We can’t forget about our Generation G Booth on Hole #10 where each golfer took the Generation G pledge to Be Generous, Be Accepting, and to Be Kind. For the icing on the cake (in addition to the delicious cupcakes donated by Busy Bee’s Bakery and ice cream from Leatherby’s), thanks to the generosity of one of our local Chick-Fil-A locations, we were able to provide hot and delicious chicken sandwiches to all of our golfers and volunteers. This was yet another highlight of the day that participants were thrilled about!

If the golf, food, sweets and good times on the course wasn’t enough, next up was our banquet dinner/awards ceremony where golfers and banquet attendees enjoyed a delicious buffet of tri tip and chicken. Attendees also got to put in their last bids to the wonderful silent auction items that were graciously donated by so many. Attendees were also able to purchase raffle tickets to our highly sought after prizes – a TaylorMade driver and putter and a VIP suite to a Sacramento Kings versus L.A. Clippers game generously donated by Sutter Health. A special congratulations to all of our winners!

It was great to see so many familiar faces and also just as wonderful to see many new faces to the event. We hope this continues to be a sold out event in future years and hope this continues to be a golf outing our players look forward to every year. Thank you to our sponsors, golfers and volunteers for making this our biggest fundraiser of the year. We can’t thank you enough and we hope to see everyone again next year!
