Hi, my name is Ashley, and I live in Chapel Hill. \u00a0I volunteer regularly with Fantastic Friends at GiGi\u2019s Playhouse Chapel Hill satellite location. \u00a0Adult participants get together monthly for social activities, games, a craft, and a snack. \u00a0Some months we enjoy a movie and popcorn together instead. \u00a0It\u2019s great to see many of the same participants and volunteers month to month, and I\u2019ve made many (fantastic!) friendships over the past year.<\/p>\n

GiGi\u2019s Playhouse is more than a place \u2013 it\u2019s such a supportive community. \u00a0I love that I often bump into someone from the GiGi\u2019s family out and about around town \u2013 at the grocery store, gas station, kids activities, etc\u2026. it always makes my day!<\/p>\n
As a parent, it is important for me that my children have opportunities to grow though service as a volunteer, and GiGi\u2019s is a wonderful place for them to do so. \u00a0My oldest has helped me volunteer for Leaps and Bounds and some of the other programs, and she truly has a heart for GiGi\u2019s participants.<\/p>\n
In addition to volunteering with programs, I enjoy working \u201cbehind-the-scenes,\u201d writing grants and reports to help bring in funding to the Playhouse. \u00a0The past few years has been marked by tremendous growth at the Playhouse. \u00a0I\u2019m excited to see what the future brings!<\/p>\n
Our dedicated volunteers share their many talents with our playhouse and participants, pouring themselves into the growth and opportunities we provide here at GiGi’s. We are incredibly lucky to have volunteers who work behind the scenes, helping with crucial components of having a successful playhouse but not always “seen” giving their time.
