GiGi’s Playhouse is a welcoming space

Hi, my name is Lauren!

I am an Occupational Therapy Doctoral student at Virginia Commonwealth University. I am currently completing my doctoral project at GiGi’s Playhouse Raleigh, focusing on observation and evaluation of many of the therapeutic and educational programs that GiGi’s provides for FREE! It has been amazing to be a part of so many programs that promote independence, meaningful activities, and social engagement. Over the past few months here I have made so many friends here and have loved getting to know the participants and volunteers that make GiGi’s Playhouse so special! GiGi’s Playhouse is a welcoming space that provides a feeling of community and inclusion to everybody that walks through the doors! Although my project here is coming to a close soon, I am looking forward to continuing volunteering in the future!
