GiGi’s is continuing to offer virtual programs locally and nationally as we work through a detailed plan for reopening in staggered stages to ensure we’re following CDC guidelines and taking all precautions necessary to keep our friends and families safe. Quad Cities Area Family Resource Fair Virtual Event<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Join us virtually as we partner with Hand-in-Hand during the week of August 10 as we feature resources for your family or children, fall activities, and inclusive programs from around the Quad Cities! All families, all ages, and all abilities are welcome! A schedule of videos and featured resources is to follow.<\/p>\n

Local Live Virtual Programs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

LMNOP (Language, Music N\u2019 Our Peeps (0-3 years)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

LMNOP is an interactive and engaging program designed to guide parents and young children through learning basic sign language and other forms of communication using music and language-based activities. We recommend this program for ages birth-3 years. This program is led by certified Music Therapist Ms. Misty with Quad City Music Therapy.<\/p>\n

Teen Tastic (13-17) & Fantastic Friends (18+)<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Teen Tastic promotes friendship, social interactions, communication through a variety of social activities, outing, and games for teens. Participants in Teen Tastic gain confidence, leadership skills, and empowerment while working as part of a team or on individual projects and tasks.<\/p>\n

Fantastic Friends program supports the development of social skills and language through peer to peer interaction in a casual fun setting. Adult participants participate in the planning of activities so that group activities are based on personal interests.<\/p>\n

Family Speaker Series<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Illinois families let\u2019s talk IEPs with Karrie from Family Matters<\/a>. Do you have a little one transitioning into school this fall? Maybe you already have an Individual Education Plan (IEP) but have questions. Either way, join us for a virtual presentation and discussion regarding the IEP process. We will work through the vision of what you would hope to achieve, the basic information you will need to gather to be ready to take the next steps, and the details that are so important for your future.<\/p>\n

One-on-One Programs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Amina Grace Speech and Language Therapy<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Literacy and Math Tutoring<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Applications open August 1st and close August 15th for Fall 2020 Session.<\/p>\n

Fall session begins the week of September 20th and will be held virtually or in-person. You will choose your option when applying.<\/p>\n

Session-Based Programs<\/strong><\/h2>\n

GiGiFIT Kid & Adult<\/strong><\/h3>\n

GiGiFIT Adult (18 and up) and GiGiFIT Kid (5-12 years) will be led by Physical Therapist Paige Taghon \u2013 Kelly for this fitness program designed just for individuals with Down syndrome! The summer session will meet on Thursdays Kids will meet at 5:30 pm and Adults will meet at 6:30 pm. This session runs June 11th through August 27th. This session will be held virtually until we can safely meet in person. Applications are closed.<\/p>\n

Music Therapy (0-6 years)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Come move, sing, and play instruments with us as we address communication, following directions, and so much more! Register for this 8-week music therapy session for ages 0-6 years that will be held once a week. There will be instrument packages provided for participants. Registrations are required as space is limited. These music therapy sessions are provided by West Music and a board-certified music therapist! Registration is closed.<\/p>\n

Leaps & Bounds (3-5 years)\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Leaps & Bounds is a play-based program for children ages 3-5 that focuses on success in preschool and kindergarten. Students will participate in fun and engaging activities that provide opportunities for following routines, small group participation, movement, and interaction with their environment. Family members are key participants in this program and will encourage their child to reach his or her Best of All throughout each session. \u00a0Recommended for ages 3-5-year-olds. Registration is closed.<\/p>\n

GiGi\u2019s at Home Live<\/strong> is our way of bringing 28+ purposeful programs to you each and every week at a specific time.
