We\u2019re always looking for more amazing individuals and families to join us in creating a space where confidence grows, friendships form, and acceptance shines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you\u2019ve ever wondered how to get involved, now is the perfect time! Below is a list of current volunteer opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Tutors Needed \u2013 Fall 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you interested in changing the life of a person with Down syndrome? Tutoring just one hour per week in our Literacy and Math program will do just that. Tutors work one-on-one with participants (ages 3 and up) to build skills in reading, comprehension, math fluency, and problem-solving. Curriculum and training are provided \u2014 you just bring patience, encouragement, and a love of learning. We would love your help with hosting and\/or coordinating a few planned programs and events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Parking Lot Party<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trunk or Treat<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Play<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dance Party<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Holiday Party<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Noon Year&#8217;s Eve<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you think you can help with any of the above, please reach out to a<a href=\"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/quadcities\/our-team\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/gigisplayhouse.org\/quadcities\/our-team\"> staff member<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Outreach Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of our focus areas for the year is to build stronger relationships within the community while encouraging growth with current and prospective families. This is particularly done by attending community events and overseeing parent programs. If you are interested in sharing the GiGi\u2019s mission with the community or reinforcing the bond between the playhouse and parents, check out the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.signupgenius.com\/go\/805044EA8AF2BA57-44327776-community#\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outreach events<\/a> needing your support!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Host Families<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most meaningful ways to be involved \u2014 especially for GiGi&#8217;s families \u2014 is to serve as a&nbsp;<strong>Host Family<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Host Families:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Greet participants as they arrive<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Help create a welcoming, friendly, and inclusive atmosphere<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure no family feels alone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Model acceptance and connection for children and adults alike<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is a wonderful volunteer opportunity for parents who want to involve their own kids in giving back and learning the power of inclusion. Even one hour can make a world of difference. Contact our Program &amp; Volunteer Coordinator to learn more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Program Leaders, Assistants, and Greeters<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program Leads<\/strong> are the heart of our programs. They guide participants through purposeful activities, model engagement, and create an encouraging environment. If you have experience in education, therapy, recreation, fitness, cooking, music, or simply love working with people, this is a meaningful way to make an impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\ud83d\udc49We are currently looking for a leader for our Leaps &amp; Bounds program. Leaps &amp; Bounds is a play-based program for children that focuses on success in preschool and kindergarten. If you are an early childhood educator or elemebtary school employee, this volunteer role would be perfect for you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program Assistants<\/strong> help ensure programs run smoothly by supporting the Lead, helping with activities, and providing encouragement to participants. This role is great for teens, college students, or anyone wanting to make a difference with a smaller time commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Program Greeters<\/strong> also help ensure the program runs smoothly by greeting families as they arrive, helping them sign in, and providing any instructions needed as they enter. Their leadership helps ensure the continued growth and impact of the playhouse both within our programs and throughout the broader community. This team member connects with prospective volunteers via email, guiding them through the onboarding process and helping ensure a positive, seamless experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Working collaboratively with staff, the Volunteer Liaison helps provide a high level of support and customer service to both new and returning volunteers.
